Hit the wall

Have you ever hit a wall? Probably not because it would hurt to do that. This week’s expression is hit the wall. But it doesn’t mean to hit an actual wall. We use hit the wall in two different ways. One way is when you are so tired you feel like you just can’t continue. A second way is to come up against some obstacle that stops your progress. Here are an example of each of those ways. The first way: I just hit the wall. I am so tired. I need to go to sleep now. The second way: Our project was going well, but we hit a wall when our funding ended. Now that you know what hit the wall means, can you think of a time when you hit the wall for one reason or another?
